The IKB token project was started by a small international collective of like-minded techno-artists who met online, brought together by admiration of International Klein Blue as a color, as well as the thought-provoking questions asked by the artist Yves Klein more than 60 years ago. Klein demonstrated that art is generally only valued by humans when there is a price attached to it, then taking that question to the extreme by testing the hypothesis when the art in question was in fact just conceptual and immaterial. We thus find it fitting to have International Klein Blue represented as a fungible blockchain token, though limited in supply, all interchangeable, as the perfect immaterial representation of International Klein Blue itself.

The founding IKB collective is not seeking fame and is actively seeking to yield increasingly less control on the IKB project. This started from the method of minting the token (a fair mint with zero pre-allocation for the team), and continued with the creation of an IKB DAO with a small treasury for future initiatives. We thus feel it is more appropriate to highlight notable IKB token holders who are independently working on grassroots initiatives, or simply doing the good work of promoting the IKB community, so that the Blue Revolution can continue to grow.
